Romantic birthday in Montpellier: a night in a suite with a jacuzzi

For a romantic birthday in Montpellier, a private-jacuzzi suite lets you extend the occasion after dinner or a walk. Plan three things first: the suite you like, your timings and any decoration. Here is how to prepare a surprise for two around what is actually available.

Choose the setting for your evening

Our three suites with a private jacuzzi are in the historic centre, each with a different atmosphere:

• Comédie: 60 m², a flower wall, swing and walk-in double shower. The mezzanine-level suite is reached by a few steps.
• Jean Jaurès: 42 m², a starry ceiling above the jacuzzi and a wall of roses. It is on an upper floor, with stairs and no lift.
• Saint-Roch: 55 m² in a 17th-century vaulted cellar. It is underground and reached by a few steps, near Saint-Roch church and rue Saint-Guilhem; it is not next to Saint-Roch railway station.

Compare all three suites and look through their photographs. The setting and access deserve as much thought as the date: consider your luggage and your partner's mobility too.

Prepare your surprise with the available extras

The three extras offered are romantic decoration, early check-in at 3 pm and late check-out at 1.30 pm, subject to availability. If decoration is part of your surprise, have it confirmed before your stay. A special request needs confirmation; it is not automatically included with a booking.

Plan your timings, from dinner to the next morning

Self check-in starts at 5 pm. Instructions are sent before your stay, and check-out is by 11 am unless another option is confirmed.

The bath is not filled in advance: allow around fifteen minutes to fill it at your preferred temperature. The jets must remain off after 11 pm out of respect for the neighbours, although the bath can still be used. If using the jets is part of your plans, avoid making your first return to the suite later than that.

Breakfast is included for the first morning. It is already in the suite when you arrive, ready to enjoy at your own pace the next day. Do not assume it is supplied every day during a stay of several nights. Bathrobes, slippers and towels are provided too.

Plan the final journey to your suite

The suites are in pedestrian areas, with no private parking. Comédie car park is around three minutes from the Comédie suite and four minutes from Jean Jaurès; Foch Préfecture car park is around four minutes from Saint-Roch. The access information helps you prepare for that walk with your bags.
